Why Arcane?

Some of you may view my spec and say "Why in the world...of warcraft would you want to spend your talent points on Arcane, especially slow?"

My answer: Yes, I have AV-d 'til my nose bleeds many, many times. However, the world...of warcraft doesn't revolve around PvP and I personally view the battlegrounds as a means to an end, not the purpose of playing. I do enjoy it sometimes. There is something funny about slowing a rogue or warrior when their back is turned and watching them get pissed off as you kite them around, fire blasting them from a distance.

For questing, I've been able to solo 3-man and 4-man group quests without a pet (Hunter Nerf!). For example, Veraku hardly touched me and I was able to easily kite Levixus the Soul Caller to the Sha'tar camp and have the guards finish him off. (Ice Block FTW!)

For raids / instances, mages can be aggro magnets so I personally like the flexibility of being mana efficient by using fireballs and scorch, which stacks vulnerability, and the high-powered, yet low-threat generating arcane spells. Casting slow during the multi-mob pulls for both Moroes and the Opera Event (the Crone) has been effective.

By the way, arcane blast crits much more but WoW the mana drain! Just be sure your mana emerald has all three charges, your evocation is cooled down, and you may want to switch Mage Armor for long fights. Time your mana unload carefully, and you should be alright.

Hope this gives you some insight on how I like to /roll!
