Until the expansion comes out, you should hold off on questing for gold until level 70 obviously because you make more money per quest. The temptation to complete quests is high at level 67-68 since you're almost there, but let me assure you that farming for gold at this level is very easy and you will make a lot more money. My recommendation is to farm leather and netherweave in Nagrand. If you die in Netherstorm, you won't enjoy the walk back to your corpse and as for Shadowmoon, well...you can't skin a demon! Besides, it only took me 3 hours a day for a full week to grind from 67-70 with only completing a few quests just to keep the grind going.
All of the quests areas from the Nesingwary chain are good places to farm beasts. (It does earn you a very good wand at the end which you may want to get as soon as you can: Nesingwary Safari Stick.)
For netherweave, which if you tailor or plan on tailoring this means you'll need a ton of stacks, keep killing ogres until your ears bleed. However, I'd stay away from the ogres in the "The Ring of Blood" area since it is farmed way too much. The ogre areas in the valleys do very well and the respawn rate is good to keep you grinding away. The Ogre Slayer's Cover isn't bad either, so you may want to do your best to complete this 3-quest chain.
Remember mages, keep grinding until you can't stand it anymore then simply port out and call it a day. Warlocks are over-powered for grinding (dot-dot-dot-dot-fear...repeat), but they have to walk home.
Buy cotton balls to stick in your ears and enjoy!
